In the Optum Insight Provider Market, we help providers optimize financial performance, enhance clinical decisions, and accelerate growth. The General Manager, Revenue Solutions, is charged with developing and executing strategic and commercial plans to achieve above-market growth for solutions delivered to our customers participating in multi-payer solutions, helping health plans improve claims accuracy and increase savings. Through increased transparency we streamline workflows and close risk gaps.

This includes setting the agenda and orchestrating across Commercial, Product and Operations leaders to drive the end-to-end client experience, securing new business and customer renewals, converting that new business into revenue, and ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty. Responsible for delivering on over $800M annual revenue. Attainment of these business objectives will be achieved through leadership competencies and practices including operational excellence, voice of the market, scalability, matrix leadership, and growth collaboration across divisions.

Serves as a member of the Provider Market business senior leadership team and contributes to the overall success of the business unit.

Hybrid in MN/DC:
This position follows a hybrid schedule with four in-office days per week.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide overall business leadership for the Revenue Solutions business, partnering across Optum to drive enterprise-wide client solutions
  • Deliver against business results: revenue and IOI targets
  • Formulate business strategy, financial plans and execution plans for the business and be responsible for the business P&L, generating YoY double digit growth, both organic and inorganic
  • Expand product offerings, generate additional revenue opportunities, improve the customer experience, and enhance the infrastructure by leveraging existing and modern technologies with an AI-first mindset. Shape product strategy; ensure alignment with roadmap and capital allocation
  • Provide end-to-end thought leadership, insight, and influence around Optum's enterprise-wide strategy. Help identify and exploit synergies and market opportunities for Optum Insight and other business segments
  • Collaborate with other lines of business to drive organizational efficiencies and alignment and to develop the infrastructure for future growth. Effectively work across the matrix to shepherd the mindset and cultural shift needed to create a more streamlined process while the organization transforms to a more cloud-first, AI-first, SaaS-based business
  • Lead domain business reviews (forecasts, objectives, status updates)
  • Engage with customers on high-impact opportunities
  • Develop an end-to-end process for development, implementation, use, reporting and feedback on solution offerings - collaborating with other product groups, distribution channels, and specialist areas, as necessary
  • Spearhead the development, communication, and implementation of effective growth strategies to achieve and surpass sales, profitability goals for the Revenue Solutions business and its many diverse software and services solutions
  • Collaborate with the Optum executive team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to enable the rapid growth objectives of our organization
  • Build and manage strategic vendor relationships. Develop and maintain relationships with internal & external contacts. Manage internal and external service providers (development, IT, operations, sales, legal, compliance, marketing, etc.) to ensure the offerings meet company objectives and these large, shared services organizations are accountable to delivering effective, timely solutions
  • Recommend and champion strategies and tactics designed to positively impact key drivers, such as price, risk profile, utilization, activation, attrition, and revenue, to ensure P&L and market share goals are achieved
  • Build for the future and provide strong leadership; oversee talent plans and strategies to attract, motivate and retain a diverse, qualified, and engaged team to fulfill current and future business needs. Provide ongoing coaching and developing of staff and ensure resource planning
  • Understand the future of the industry and develop new products and services in order to better support clients and ensure smooth delivery of innovative solutions
