Why This Role Exists

This role supports a major workforce transformation effort within the U.S. Coast Guard focused on improving human resources and talent management through organizational change, data analytics, IT and risk management. The work involves coordinating complex initiatives that impact workforce readiness, digital transformation, and process improvements across the organization.

As an experienced Project Manager supporting a U.S. Coast Guard workforce transformation initiative, you will partner with program leadership and cross‑functional teams to coordinate multiple work streams, maintain alignment across stakeholders, and support successful delivery of a large, high‑visibility effort.

This role is ideal for someone who brings strong execution discipline, can quickly establish clarity across multiple work streams, and is comfortable supporting a visible initiative alongside an experienced team.

What You Will Do
  • Develop, manage, and maintain comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets aligned to stakeholder requirements
  • Coordinate and lead cross‑functional project teams, establishing priorities, timelines, and deliverables
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, implementing contingency plans to minimize impact
  • Monitor and report project progress, providing clear and timely updates on status, issues, and changes
  • Ensure compliance with established project management methodologies and best practices, including PMBOK or Agile approaches
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing recommendations and facilitating decision making
  • Maintain project documentation including plans, status reports, lessons learned, and governance records in accordance with USCG policies and procedures
What We Are Looking For
  • Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Five or more years of project management experience supporting large workforce transformation, organizational change, or other complex enterprise initiatives
  • Extensive experience managing multiple concurrent project work streams within large programs or initiatives
  • USCG organizational knowledge and experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Experience implementing change management approaches within an organization
  • Experience applying Agile methodology to project management activities
  • Ability to operate in a highly professional, client‑facing environment and quickly integrate into active projects
