OverviewWe are seeking a dynamic, strategic, and results-driven Area Director of Sales to lead the commercial strategy for Viceroy Washington DC and Hotel Zena
. This executive leader will drive revenue growth, strengthen market positioning, uphold brand integrity, and cultivate a high-performance sales culture across both properties. As a leader in modern luxury, Viceroy is committed to creating immersive destinations that allow guests to craft unforgettable narratives rooted in authenticity. The ideal candidate is a sophisticated relationship builder and data-driven strategist with a deep understanding of the Washington, DC market and a proven ability to thrive in a luxury, experience-driven environment.
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales and revenue strategies aligned with brand positioning and ownership objectives.
- Lead, mentor, and elevate the Sales teams across both properties to achieve and exceed budgeted revenue goals.
- Drive group, corporate, leisure, and transient sales performance while expanding key market segments.
- Partner closely with Revenue Management to optimize pricing strategy, segmentation, and forecasting accuracy.
- Oversee account management strategy and personally manage high-value and strategic client relationships.
- Analyze competitive intelligence, market trends, and demand patterns to refine go-to-market initiatives.
- Collaborate with Operations to ensure seamless execution of contracted business and exceptional guest experience delivery.
- Prepare and present weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reports to ownership and executive leadership.
- Champion brand standards, ensuring alignment with Viceroy’s luxury positioning and storytelling approach.
- Lead budget preparation, sales expense management, and ROI analysis for all commercial initiatives.
- Represent the properties at key industry events, trade shows, and client engagements.
- Minimum 7–10 years progressive sales leadership experience within luxury or lifestyle hospitality.
- Prior multi-property or complex urban market experience strongly preferred.
- Proven track record of exceeding revenue targets in a competitive market.
- Deep understanding of the Washington D.C corporate, association, government, and international segments.
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and revenue optimization.
- Exceptional leadership presence with the ability to develop high-performing teams.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and negotiation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
