Position: On-Site Helicopter Mechanic (A&P) - USPP Support (M1)

On-Site Helicopter Mechanic (A&P) - U.S. Park Police Aviation Operations

D2 Government Solutions is seeking a full-time qualified candidate for an On‑Site Helicopter Mechanic (A&P) to support U.S. Park Police aviation operations in the Washington, DC area. This role provides hands‑on maintenance support at the USPP hangar and coordinates with our maintenance facility for scheduled and heavy maintenance actions.

Responsibilities
  • Perform and document scheduled and unscheduled maintenance actions on assigned helicopters and related systems.
  • Troubleshoot discrepancies and coordinate repairs with the maintenance team and Government representatives.
  • Support routine servicing activities (e.g., washes/rinses) and basic upkeep of related ground equipment as needed.
  • Participate in maintenance/test flights when required and coordinate aircraft movements to/from the maintenance facility.
  • Track inspection intervals, time/life items, and overhaul status using a maintenance tracking program accessible to the customer fleet manager.
  • Support parts and consumables control at the hangar, including tracking components sent out for repair/overhaul.
  • Operate within required shop hours and support on‑call/after‑hours coverage when directed by tasking.
Qualifications
  • Valid FAA Mechanic Certificate with Air frame and Power plant (A&P) ratings.
  • At least 24 months holding A&P certificate and actively working as a certificated mechanic for at least 18 of the last 24 months.
  • Rotorcraft maintenance background, including prior experience supporting Bell 206 and Bell 212/412‑series aircraft (or completion of an equivalent manufacturer maintenance course).
  • Ability to work independently in operational environments and coordinate effectively with Government maintenance and flight personnel.
  • Strong maintenance documentation habits and comfort using electronic maintenance tracking tools.
Computer Systems Experience

Maintenance tracking software; email; scanning/PDF assembly for maintenance record packages.
