Leaders We Deserve is a PAC and Super

PAC dedicated to electing the next generation of bold, young, progressive leaders to state legislatures and Congress. We collaborate directly with candidates on their campaign strategy, communication, fundraising, political outreach, and coalition building to help them run the best campaigns humanly possible and maximize their chance of winning. In the final months of their campaigns, we run hard‑hitting independent expenditures on their behalf.

Leaders We Deserve was co‑founded by David Hogg, Parkland survivor and Gun Safety advocate, along with Kevin Lata, Congressman Maxwell Frost’s Campaign Manager and the 2022 Campaign Manager of the year.

Location: In‑person, Washington, DC; LWD office

Reports to: Communications Director

Classification: Full‑time, exempt employee

Term: Limited‑term, with a set end date in November 2026

Leaders We Deserve is seeking a creative and driven Digital Associate to provide support to the communications team. In this role, you’ll help uplift our candidates and amplify our mission to elect the next generation of progressive leaders.

• Think outside the box: This person will have a high level of creativity and constantly question conventional knowledge. This person knows that just because it was done one way in the past, doesn’t mean it has to continue to be done that way.
• Be a self‑starter: This person possesses a can‑do attitude and constantly thinks about how we can exceed what seems possible. This person will be an independent worker and collaborate across departments.
• Be detail‑oriented and thoughtful: This person understands that working in a small organization means that the details and precision matter, but also doesn’t become a prisoner to them and let perfection stand in the way of action.
• Be highly communicative: This person will be a proactive communicator towards management and co‑workers when issues arise in carrying out their projects and duties. This person can give feedback in a direct and respectful way.
• Extremely dedicated to electing young progressives: This person sees the virtue in electing progressive young people and believes they have a critical role to play in our party and in advancing the progressive agenda.

• Social Media: Generate ideas for, craft, edit, and publish static digital content on Tik Tok, X, Instagram, and additional social platforms.
• Rapid Response: Act upon breaking news to advance narratives and storytelling that highlight the importance of Leaders We Deserve and our candidates on the ballot.
• Community Management: Track and manage comments and engagement on Leaders We Deserve social media accounts on Tik Tok, X, Instagram, and additional social platforms.
• Candidate Support: Work collaboratively with the Communication and Campaigns team to support candidates as needed in creating graphics and other digital content, along with ongoing support for LWD endorsed candidates.
• Cross‑departmental collaboration and support: Support the communications team with content and messaging related work, and work across other departments in alignment with the overarching goals of the organization.
• Other duties as assigned. The Leaders We Deserve Communications team is a highly productive team with many varying duties and responsibilities, so there will be other duties as assigned.

• At least one cycle of prior experience in social media/graphics for an elected official, candidate, State Party or PAC is required. Additional years of experience are nice to have but not required.
• Strong graphic design skills are required for this role.
• A proactive approach to problem‑solving and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to receive direction and take constructive criticism in stride.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven track record of being successful in a highly collaborative environment.
• The ability to distill complex ideas into compelling, simple messaging.
