Reuters is seeking an enterprising reporter to amplify our coverage of the Trump administration’s remaking of American scientific and public health priorities. This reporter will seek buzz-worthy scoops and embark on ambitious investigations. They will be fluent in the topics of greatest interest to our readers, from drug price negotiations to the prescription drug approval process, cutbacks to research spending and global health aid, as well as the remaking of vaccine policy.

The successful candidate will have a track record of source-building within U.S. health agencies and will work seamlessly with colleagues on the global health and pharma team, the Washington bureau and reporters in other countries that are impacted by the extraordinary changes to U.S. health policy.

** As a
** US Health and Pharma Correspondent**, you will:
* Report deeply sourced, agenda-setting information and insights that break news in the health and pharmadeutical industries or in government oversight of them.
* Pitch, report and write stories off the daily headlines that add context, analysis, and depth to news about health and pharmaceutical industry regulation and oversight, pulling details from those closest to the story.
* Pitch, report and write investigative stories covering changes in regulation and oversight or that uncover non-public regulatory decisions, corporate influence, and policy loopholes.
* Maintaining and increasing a rolodex of sources in the industry and oversight bodies.
* Work closely with colleagues on video, photos, publishing and social media teams to produce the stories our clients need.

** To be our
** US Health and Pharma Correspondent,
** you will have:
* At least five years’ work at a major news organization
* Experience in covering public health and pharma industry news
* Exceptional skill at quick-turn exclusive stories, insightful analyses and longer-term investigations
* Excellent writing skills
* A team player mentality, able to collaborate with, learn from and impart wisdom to colleagues
* The ability to speak about their reporting in various formats, whether on camera, during a podcast or in a conference hall.#LI-CH1
