Responsibilities

• Develop and execute communications strategies that align with campaign goals, using data and insights to shape messaging across all platforms
• Serve as campaign spokesperson, manage media relations, generate earned coverage, and prepare candidates for media appearances, debates, and interviews
• Craft press materials, speeches, and op-eds while managing social media for consistency, impact, and engagement
• Mentor communications staff (press, digital, design), ensure message discipline, and align communications with overall campaign strategy
• Build relationships with media, community leaders, and partners; manage outreach through newsletters, alerts, and updates
• Track and optimize communication efforts using analytics, staying responsive to political developments and media trends

Required

• Proven excellence in political campaign communications, management, and execution, ideally in senior roles within major campaigns
• 5–6 years of experience in political communications, with at least 3 years managing teams
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including on-the-record experience
• Strong understanding of digital campaigning, media relations, and campaign compliance
• Demonstrated ability to craft compelling messaging and execute multi-channel outreach
• Experience working in fast-paced, high-stakes environments
• Deep knowledge of voter engagement, fundraising, and field organizing
