The McKinsey Reach & Engagement internship is a 10-week paid program that runs from June to August and offers students the opportunity to work with a team of world-class communications and marketing professionals.
As part of the central operations team within the Reach & Engagement function, you will support the effective day-to-day running of the function while contributing to strategic and operational initiatives. This includes partnering with team members to enhance processes, improve coordination, and drive projects that strengthen how the function delivers impact across the firm.
During the internship, you will work on a range of strategy and operations-related projects, which may include process improvement, planning support, performance tracking, and cross-functional coordination. Through this work, you will gain exposure to how a global communications function operates and help enable the team to deliver high-quality outcomes across publishing, engagement, and communications efforts.
This internship provides valuable experience and skill-building opportunities in strategy, operations, marketing, and communications within a global professional services environment.
You will join a group of professionals within the firm's Reach & Engagement function, specifically within the central operations team. These colleagues help ensure the function runs effectively and efficiently, enabling insights to reach designated audiences and strengthening engagement with McKinsey's distinctive knowledge.
Your team plays a critical role in shaping how the firm connects with clients, employees, alumni, and broader audiences - building awareness, engagement, and institutional relationships.
* Current college/university student in your junior year of an undergraduate degree, with an expected graduation date between December 2026 - August 2027; communications, journalism, marketing, English coursework and/or concentration is a plus
* Prior internship or work experience in the fields of publishing, marketing or communications
* Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint)
* Effective problem-solving skills, including the ability to assess situations, evaluate options, and make decisions
* Collaborative work ethic and strong desire to learn
* Comfort working in a low-structure, nonhierarchical environment
* Ability to manage requests and orders of different stakeholders, prioritizing time and demands effectively
* Ability to work independently and entrepreneurially
* Intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm for communications
* Exhibits core firm values in attitude and work (e.g., owning development, driving work, demonstrating resilience)
