THIS ROLE

Berlin Rosen is seeking an experienced communications strategist to join us as an Account Director. In this role, you will create strategies, manage campaigns, and promote programs that drive media coverage and public engagement. You will work with a team of expert colleagues and lead the day‑to‑day account flow by managing junior staff and client relations.

This role is based in our New York, N.Y. or Washington D.C. office on a hybrid basis. The Real Estate team is in‑office 3 days per week.

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

As an Account Director on the Real Estate team you will…

  • Lead development of large‑scale strategies along with teammates
  • Drive client communications daily: setting expectations, escalating urgent needs, building and maintaining strong relationships, etc.
  • Manage junior staff on each account you lead, strategically influencing deliverables’ quality and staff development by delegating, modeling smart practices and providing feedback
  • Manage up to build strong, effective relationships with senior team leaders to understand their goals, communication styles and needs, providing proactive solutions to work together toward success.
  • Coordinate across internal and external teams to deploy integrated services (media relations, digital advertising, research) to meet your clients’ goals
  • Conceptualize and drive new story angles and other media opportunities for clients: such as ideating and landing feature stories during news lulls, or drafting a persuasive and compelling pitch on behalf of a client for a high‑profile interview, award or conference
  • Work closely with senior team leaders on capacity planning to ensure that the team is running efficiently
  • Contribute to business development and growth efforts
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
  • A minimum of 6 years of strategic communications experience: in‑house, media or journalism; PR agency experience preferred
  • Deep in media relations in real estate, business, corporate communications, executive thought leadership and urbanism
