LMI is seeking a Communications Specialist to lead strategic communications, knowledge management, executive and stakeholder content, reusable knowledge assets, publication quality, and Section 508 coordination for Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) modernization initiatives.
This position follows a hybrid work model, with an expectation of approximately 25% onsite presence at LMI's Tysons headquarters or Washington, DC.
This role treats communications and knowledge management as part of the operating model rather than as a final publishing step. The lead will help the team create a consistent narrative, make critical information easy to find and reuse, and establish quality controls so executive products and stakeholder‑facing materials are accurate, accessible, current, and fit for purpose.
The successful candidate will be a strong editor and information organizer who can move between executive messaging, technical content, knowledge architecture, accessibility, and stakeholder engagement. The role requires confidence working with subject‑matter experts while preserving technical meaning and simplifying unnecessary complexity.
The lead must also understand that communication quality is a feedback mechanism. Questions, repeated misunderstandings, outdated content, inaccessible artifacts, and low reuse are signals that the content system needs to improve. The role should use those signals to refine messages, templates, navigation, ownership, and publication practices over time.
The ideal candidate can turn complex technical, clinical, analytical, and program content into concise, accessible materials while maintaining disciplined versioning, ownership, and reuse across a large federal environment.
LMI is a new breed of digital solutions provider dedicated to accelerating government impact with innovation and speed. Investing in technology and prototypes ahead of need, LMI brings commercial‑grade platforms and mission‑ready AI to federal agencies at commercial speed.
Leveraging our mission‑ready technology and solutions, proven expertise in federal deployment, and strategic relationships, we enhance outcomes for the government, efficiently and effectively. With a focus on agility and collaboration, LMI serves the defense, space, healthcare, and energy sectors — helping agencies navigate complexity and outpace change.
