ABOUT THE POSITION

The director of membership and development plays a key role in strengthening GEO’s community of Grantmakers and achieving GEO’s revenue goals. The director supports membership and fundraising efforts across the staff and works closely with the vice president of external affairs, the executive vice president, and members of the revenue team to ensure that GEO’s fundraising and membership efforts meet or exceed annual goals.

The director reports to the vice president of external affairs and supervises three staff members on the revenue team. This role involves about 20-30% travel, though GEO staff have not traveled in the past two years due to COVID-19 and expect to resume some travel this spring/summer.

COMPENSATION

GEO offers a competitive salary starting at $106,000 and a generous benefits package, including 100% employer-paid health insurance, three weeks of vacation plus three weeks of office closures (one in summer and two at year-end), summer Fridays off, twelve sick days, a 7% employer retirement contribution, transportation and wellness benefits, a commitment to professional development, and a Metro-accessible location in downtown D.C. (
