National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) is a 133-year-old Jewish feminist civil rights organization working for equity and justice for women, children, and families in the United States and Israel. With 250,000 grassroots advocates and 45 local sections, we combine education, direct service, and advocacy to create lasting social change.
We approach our work through a Jewish, gender, economic, and racial justice lens, centering those most impacted. Our deep partnerships across civil rights, faith-based, and governmental spaces reflect our intersectional values.
NCJW is at a transformational moment, guided by a bold new strategic plan. Our audacious goal: engage one million changemakers nationwide to improve the lives of women, children, and families in the United States and Israel. To reach that goal, NCJW is making important adjustments to its structure, strategy and staffing. This role is a part of that vision.
Position SummaryNational Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) seeks a bold and strategic Vice President of Development to lead our fundraising efforts during a time of exciting growth and impact. This leader will be charged with developing and executing a comprehensive strategy to increase NCJW’s philanthropic revenue — with a goal of substantially expanding our fundraising in the coming years. The Vice President of Development will manage and grow a high‑performing team, partner closely with the Executive Vice President and Board, and activate an energized lay leadership to expand our base of support.
Reporting to the Executive Vice President and serving as a key member of the senior leadership team, the Vice President of Development will oversee all aspects of NCJW’s fundraising program, including individual, foundation, corporate, and legacy giving. This role is for someone who brings big vision and bold goals — and has the experience to deliver on them. The successful candidate will be a hands‑on leader with a strong track record of building relationships, managing teams, making six‑and seven‑figure asks, and fueling mission‑driven work with the resources it deserves.
This is a unique opportunity to join a values‑driven organization with a legacy of fighting for justice through a Jewish feminist lens.
The Vice President of Development will help shape NCJW’s future, mobilizing donors and partners who share our commitment to equity and dignity for all. This job is based in Washington, DC; the role requires regular travel and in‑person donor engagement.
