MissionSOME (So Others Might Eat) provides material aid and comfort to our vulnerable neighbors in the District of Columbia, helping them to break the cycle of poverty and homelessness through programs and services that save lives, improve lives, and help to transform the lives of individuals and families, their communities, and the systems and structures that affect them. We meet immediate needs with food, clothing, and healthcare, and offer the tools one needs to live with hope, dignity, and greater independence.
CompensationWe offer our employees a competitive compensation and benefits package that reflects our organizational culture, mission, and core values. The hourly range for this position is $28.50 to $30.14 and is commensurate with experience.
Position DescriptionThe Development Associate provides essential support to the Individual Philanthropy team, ensuring timely and thoughtful stewardship of donors. This role is primarily responsible for acknowledging various monetary contributions, including annual gifts, memorial and honorary donations, and monthly sustainer contributions.
Key responsibilities include:
ensuring accurate and consistent data entry to maintain donor records; drafting and coordinating donor-facing correspondence including acknowledgments, invitations, and stewardship materials such as appeals, newsletters, and impact reports; reconciling failed transactions; assisting in the identification of donor prospects by preparing reports on giving histories, team performance, and organizational trends as…
