The Center for Rising Generations manages five programs: the Aspen Challenge, the Aspen Young Leaders Fellowship, the Center for Native American Youth, the Stevens Initiative, and the Education and Society program. CRG works closely with and coordinates work across these CRG programs.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

The Executive Assistant for the Center for Rising Generations (CRG) will have primary responsibility for managing scheduling and meeting preparation; planning travel; and providing operational support to the Managing Director and Vice President for the Center for Rising Generations. The executive assistant will also serve as a public face for the Center for Rising Generations and should reflect the Center’s values through a positive and collaborative disposition.

The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $100,000. The expectation for this role is to be in-office at our Washington D.C. location Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday while having the flexibility to work remotely Monday and Friday.

WHAT YOU WILL DO Scheduling and meeting preparation
  • Schedule meetings.
  • Coordinate meeting participants’ schedules.
  • Reflect leadership’s priorities in making scheduling decisions.
  • Secure locations for meetings.
  • Ensure that the managing director and/or vice president have materials needed for meetings.
Planning travel
  • Schedule flights and hotel accommodations.
  • Adjust travel plans as needed.
  • Monitor travel schedules and anticipate and address potential challenges.
Operational support
  • Coordinate technology support.
  • Maintain receipts and complete expense reports.
  • Coordinate with building services and with parking as needed.
  • Support in maintaining CRG databases.
Communicating across programs
  • Maintain relationships with other programs at the Aspen Institute.
  • Help to build strong connections and opportunities for collaboration across CRG programs.
Other Opportunities
  • The CRG Executive Assistant may have the opportunity to lead and support other projects based on need and interest.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO THRIVE
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a senior-facing role (e.g. executive support, fundraising, philanthropy, or executive communications).
  • Experience working with executives with complex and changing schedules.
  • Strong skills in working with others to solve problems.
  • The ability to anticipate challenges and identify solutions quickly.
  • Strong organizational skills and a facility with managing expense reports.
  • The ability to work nimbly and flexibly through uncertainty.
  • A passion for collaborating with the success of a team and a willingness to adapt as needs change.
  • The ability to work productively with staff of a variety of backgrounds and ages
