We are seeking a compassionate, knowledgeable, and certified Lactation Consultant to support new and expectant parents in achieving their breastfeeding goals. The ideal candidate will provide expert guidance, education, and hands‑on assistance to promote successful lactation and infant nutrition in inpatient settings.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individualized lactation consultations to patients in hospitals, clinics, or home settings
- Assess and address breastfeeding challenges such as latch issues, milk supply, nipple pain, and infant weight gain
- Educate families on breastfeeding techniques, pumping, milk storage, and feeding plans
- Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, nurses, and dietitians to ensure coordinated care
- Document patient interactions and progress in medical records
- Lead breastfeeding classes and support groups as needed
- Stay current with best practices and research in lactation and maternal‑child health
- Advocate for breastfeeding‑friendly policies and environments within the organization
- Education: BSN required
- Certification: IBCLC from International Board of Lactation Consultation Examiners required
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to adapt to multiple and changing priorities
