Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a DC RN license and 2 years of recent L&D experience.
Responsibilities- Position is in a hospital-based Labor & Delivery unit
- Cares for pregnant patients 17 weeks gestation and beyond, including laboring and scheduled procedures
- Handles admissions, discharges, transfers, pre-op, and deliveries including vaginal and C-section births
- Common equipment includes fetal monitors; documentation is done in Cerner and Fetalink
- Required to work three 12-hour day shifts per week
- One on-call shift required per week
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles away from the facility
- Will be responsible for caring for females of childbearing age, including triaging and managing complicated cases
- May participate in pre-op preparations, external cephalic versions, and cerclage as needed
- Must comply with CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) requirements mandated by the position
- AHA certifications only are accepted
- No local candidates within 50 miles will be considered
- Active DC RN license required; no pending licenses accepted
- Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NRP and AWHONN Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent L&D nursing experience in a US hospital required
- Experience with labor and postpartum care preferred
- Ability to provide two manager or supervisor references, including one from the most recent employer
- US Social Security Number required for consideration
- Experience with Cerner and Fetalink documentation systems preferred
