American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position in Washington, DC, requiring a DC RN license, strong neuro critical care skills, and certification in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.

• Work in the Neuro ICU (Neuro Intensive Care Unit) of a hospital setting
• Majority of shifts are day (3x12s), with up to two weeks of nights per six-week schedule
• Assignment includes rotating weekends and holidays as needed
• Care for neuro ICU patients requiring advanced monitoring and interventions
• Experience with specialized equipment such as EVD, Raumedic Bolt, Artic Sun, CVVH, lytic catheters, Flo-tracker, and PA catheters is needed
• Required to float to equivalent or lower acuity units and other ICUs or IMC as needed
• Uses advanced neuro and ICU procedures including ICP monitoring and conscious sedation
• Provide complex care to critically ill neurological patients, including post-neurosurgical and neurologic emergency cases
• Ceil blue scrubs required; not provided by facility
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Must work every other weekend and holidays as needed

• Active DC RN license required; pending license accepted with proof prior to start
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Neuro ICU or critical care experience
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• CCRN certification preferred
• Skills required:
  
  conscious sedation, ICP management, ventilator management
• Skills preferred:
  Level 1 trauma experience, pulmonary artery line management, IV starts, and phlebotomy
• Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with an overall score of at least 80% and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Flu vaccination required
