Description:
The Clinical Nurse Coordinator is responsible for providing high-quality patient care in an outpatient oncology infusion setting.
This role involves administering chemotherapy, biotherapy, and other IV therapies.
The coordinator will act as a resource for patients and staff regarding oncologic emergencies and medication administration.
The position requires recognizing and managing side effects of treatment.
The Clinical Nurse Coordinator will also provide education to patients and their families about treatment and symptom management.
Experience with infusion centers and outpatient oncology is necessary.
Preferred skills include experience in BMT and inpatient oncology.
Phlebotomy skills and previous charge experience are advantageous.
This position requires weekend coverage every other weekend.
Floating within units of equivalent or lower acuity may be required.
Employees must be vaccinated for the flu.
The Clinical Nurse Coordinator will adhere to isolation and neutropenic precautions as necessary.
The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Candidates should be able to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for this role.
Candidates should be prepared to manage a range of oncologic diagnoses and treatment protocols.
Candidates will work with patients undergoing treatment for various cancers and blood dyscrasias.
The focus will be on compassionate care and active symptom management throughout the treatment journey.
Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to professional development and continuing education in oncology nursing.
