Description:
Seeking a Neuro ICU Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract.
The position involves providing care for patients with neurological disorders in a critical care setting.
The nurse will handle various special equipment including EVD, Raumedic Bolt, Artic Sun, and others as needed.
The majority of the shifts will be during the day with occasional night shifts.
Responsibilities include managing patients with conditions such as cerebral aneurysms, ischemic strokes, brain masses, and head trauma.
The nurse will be required to float to other ICUs or intermediate care units as needed.
A strong skill set in conscious sedation, ICP monitoring, ventilator management, and trauma care is preferred.
All candidates must provide proof of required certifications at the time of application.
Travel experience is required.
Candidate must be comfortable working in a high-acuity setting and demonstrating strong critical thinking skills.
Flexibility with the schedule is necessary, as the nurse may be needed on weekends and holidays.
This position also involves collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Engagement in infection prevention and adherence to isolation protocols is essential for patient safety.
The ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias, perform phlebotomy, and administer medications is required.
Additional responsibilities will include handling surgical wounds and assisting in emergency procedures when needed.
Candidates must have the ability to maintain composure in stressful situations and provide exemplary patient support.
