Travel Nurse Job Details- Position: Endoscopy RN (Travel Assignment) – Travel Nurse
- Location: Washington, DC 20010 (Washington DC healthcare jobs)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (travel nurse contract)
- Start Date: March 30, 2026
- End Date: June 29, 2026
- Shift: Days, 4x10-hour shifts (07:00 – 17:30)
- Hours per Week: 40
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,900 – $2,000
- On-Call: Weekday on-call 17:30–07:00 once per week; weekend on-call every 6th or 7th weekend (Mon/Fri evenings 17:30–07:00, Sat/Sun 24 hours 07:00–07:00)
- Float: Required within GI Suite based on competency (Pre-op, Intra-Procedural, PACU)
- Patient Population: Pediatrics, Adults, Geriatrics
- Department Ratios: Pre-op 1:2, Intra-procedural 1:1, PACU 1:2
- Scrubs: Wear your own or change into hospital-provided laundry scrubs
- Flu Vaccine: Required (no exemptions)
- Experience: Minimum 2 years as an Endoscopy RN or GI Nurse with demonstrated ability to function in Pre-op, Intra-Procedural, and PACU phases
- Licensure: Active DC RN license required by start date (pending DC license accepted with proof at submission; must be in hand prior to start)
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS required
- Clinical Skills: Pre/post-procedure assessment and teaching, IV start/maintenance, medication administration, sedation monitoring, airway management, and PACU care
- Preferred: Experience in outpatient endoscopy centers or high-volume GI suites
- First-Time Travel Nurses: Accepted if experienced across all endoscopy phases (pre, intra, post)
- Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care across the endoscopy continuum: pre-op assessment, intra-procedural support, and PACU recovery
- Start and maintain IV access; administer medications and fluids as ordered; monitor sedation and vitals
- Assess and respond promptly to changes in patient status (vitals, sedation response, pain, airway)
- Support efficient procedural flow while maintaining patient comfort, privacy, and safety
- Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate perioperative and post-procedure care
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Float within the GI Suite as needed based on competency (pre-op, procedure room, PACU)
- Participate in scheduled on-call coverage to support department needs and ensure continuity of care
