Travel ICU RN needed in Washington, DC — 13-week CVICU contract. Must have 2+ years of recent ICU/CVICU experience and prior travel nursing experience. - Unit: 2NE CCU CVICU (22 beds) – Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit
- Contract: 13 weeks (April 13, 2026 – July 13, 2026)
- Shift: Rotating Day/Night, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30 / 19:00–07:30)
- Hours: 36 or 48 per week
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1900-$2000
- Patient Ratio: 1:2
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Float: May float to other ICU or IMC units as needed
- Charting/EHR: Cerner

Travel ICU RN– Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU or CVICU experience (cardiac/advanced heart failure experience preferred)
- Travel nursing experience required (travel nurse jobs, prior contract experience)
- Active DC RN license required (pending accepted with proof; license must be in hand before start)
- ACLS and BLS certifications (American Heart Association)
- Ability to pass Relias EKG competency exam prior to start
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- Comfortable with rotating shifts and floating to similar acuity units
- Two professional/supervisor references required
- Provide expert nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with advanced heart failure, coronary artery disease, post-cardiac arrest, and post-interventional cardiology procedures
- Manage life-support devices and advanced therapies including IABP, Impella, LVAD/RVAD, CRRT, and mechanical ventilation
- Perform and interpret 12-lead EKGs; manage arterial lines, central lines, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Administer blood products, continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, and manage high-flow nasal cannula/ventilator care
- Maintain infection prevention, isolation precautions, and proper PPE usage
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams: respiratory therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, social work, and IV teams
- Float to other ICU or IMC units as needed and complete unit-specific modules within one week of signing contract
- Strong critical thinking and prioritization skills for high-acuity cardiovascular patients
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced teaching hospital environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
- Familiarity with Cerner charting system preferred
