Travel RN - Med​/Surg Tele

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position in Washington, DC, requiring a DC RN license and minimum two years of recent specialty experience.

Job Details

• Work in a hospital medical/surgical telemetry unit,

• Three 12-hour night shifts per week,

• Patient population includes adult Med/Surg and telemetry cases,

• Use of telemetry monitoring equipment and Cerner EMR is required,

Job Requirements

• Active DC RN license (standard or compact) in hand,

• Minimum of two years' recent Med/Surg Tele RN experience in a US hospital,

• American Heart Association (AHA) BLS and ACLS certifications required,

• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required,

• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification mandated by position,

• Graduate from an accredited or NLN-approved RN program,

• BSN highly desired,

• Experience with Cerner EMR required,

• Must live at least 25 miles away from the facility to be eligible as a traveler,

• Social Security number required for consideration,

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to Med/Surg and telemetry patients,

• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments and document findings,

• Demonstrate ability to interpret and address patient needs across the lifespan,

• Admission assessments must be completed within established time frames,

• Must submit two manager or supervisor references verifying recent experience,

• Holiday coverage and floating may be required as directed by the department,

• Dress code and scrub color details provided upon assignment,
