Job Description & How to Apply Below

A primary care organization in Washington, DC is seeking a staff Family Nurse Practitioner for a pure clinical role across two small clinics embedded in DC public housing communities, serving Medicaid families from children through older adults with thirty-minute appointments, onsite labs, and the kind of continuity that comes from being the provider a family actually knows. Monday–Friday, no weekends, full practice authority from day one under DC's full scope licensure.

Spanish language skills strongly preferred given the patient population served.

This is a supported staff clinician role with no administrative or leadership requirement. Medical assistants work alongside you onsite, and a Lead NP is available as a clinical resource throughout.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver comprehensive primary care across the lifespan at two assigned clinic sites
  • Provide well child care, immunizations, physicals, and preventive screenings
  • Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic conditions with emphasis on chronic disease management
  • Manage patients with multiple chronic conditions alongside significant social needs
  • Prescribe and manage medications including controlled substances
  • Order and interpret onsite labs and point-of-care testing
  • Coordinate referrals with specialists, hospitals, and community organizations
  • Provide health education and counseling with attention to health literacy
  • Document care accurately in the EHR
  • Participate occasionally in community outreach events at clinic sites
Qualifications
  • Active, unrestricted Washington, DC NP license (or ability to obtain before start)
  • FNP certification through ANCC or AANP (required; panel includes pediatric patients; AGPCNP does not meet requirement)
  • Active DEA registration required
  • MSN, DNP, or equivalent advanced nursing degree
  • 1-3 years NP clinical experience
  • Chronic disease management experience required
  • Experience with or clear interest in Medicaid and underserved populations
  • Comfortable seeing pediatric patients: well child care, vaccines, physicals
  • Spanish language skills strongly preferred
  • Community health, FQHC, or public health experience preferred
Schedule & Compensation
  • $125,000-$140,000/year (set by experience)
  • Onsite, split between two DC clinic locations
  • ICHRA: $300/month toward individual health plan
  • PTO up to 2 weeks accrued + 7 paid holidays | Paid sick leave from day one
  • CEU allowance up to $500/year | Malpractice covered

Note: DC licensure and DEA registration are the candidate's responsibility prior to start
