PS2G is seeking Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN I) to provide clinical nursing services within a School Health Program. This is a full-time, onsite position assigned to a school setting and responsible for supporting the healthcare needs of students throughout the school day.

The LPN I will provide nursing care within the individual's authorized scope of practice and in accordance with applicable nursing standards, school health protocols, physician/provider orders, individualized healthcare plans, and direction from the appropriate supervising clinical professional.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to students in an assigned school health suite.
  • Assess and monitor students presenting with illnesses, injuries, chronic health conditions, or other health-related concerns within the LPN scope of practice.
  • Obtain, monitor, and document vital signs and other relevant clinical information.
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with authorized provider orders, applicable regulations, school health procedures, and scope-of-practice requirements.
  • Support implementation of individualized healthcare plans and emergency action plans for students with identified medical needs.
  • Provide care and monitoring for students with chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, seizure disorders, allergies, and other healthcare needs as authorized and trained.
  • Recognize changes in student condition and elevate concerns to the appropriate supervising nurse, healthcare provider, emergency personnel, or school administrator.
  • Provide first aid and nursing interventions for injuries and acute illnesses occurring during the school day.
  • Assist with health screenings, immunization-related documentation, student health records, and other school health activities.
  • Maintain complete, timely, and accurate documentation of nursing services and student encounters.
  • Maintain medication, treatment, supply, and health-suite records in accordance with established procedures.
  • Follow infection prevention, exposure control, medication safety, and emergency response procedures.
  • Participate in emergency response and provide appropriate nursing interventions during medical emergencies.
  • Communicate appropriately with parents/guardians regarding student health matters in accordance with program protocols.
  • Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, healthcare professionals, parents/guardians, and other members of the student's care team.
  • Protect the confidentiality of student health and educational information in accordance with HIPAA, FERPA, and applicable organizational and school system requirements.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and appropriately stocked school health environment.
  • Perform additional clinical duties within the LPN's authorized scope of practice as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Current, active, and unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license valid for the jurisdiction of employment.
  • Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain prior to assignment.
  • Ability to successfully complete required criminal background checks, health screenings, and school system clearance requirements.
  • Ability to work onsite Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Knowledge of basic nursing principles, medication administration, infection control, and emergency response.
  • Strong clinical documentation, communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous LPN experience in school health, pediatrics, community health, public health, primary care, urgent care, or a comparable clinical environment.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents.
  • Experience supporting students or patients with chronic illnesses, disabilities, or special healthcare needs.
  • Experience with medication administration and individualized healthcare plans.
  • Experience working independently while coordinating with an RN or other supervising healthcare professional.
