Our team is looking to expand, and we are seeking a dedicated Pediatric Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our growing practice.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Pediatric Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to deliver psychiatric evaluations, treatment plans, medication management, and psychotherapy for children and adolescents. The ideal candidate will have experience in pediatric mental health care and be committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered care. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations for children and adolescents with mental health concerns.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management and psychotherapy.
  • Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications as appropriate.
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy using evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and other therapeutic modalities.
  • Collaborate closely with pediatricians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care.
  • Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential patient records in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Participate in case reviews, multidisciplinary team meetings, and continuous professional development.

Qualifications/ Licenses

Required:

  • Active and unrestricted licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in Washington, DC.
  • CRNP- PMH (Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner
    - Psychiatric Mental Health)
  • APRN - PMH (Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
    - Psychiatric Mental Health)
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing (MSN or DNP) from an accredited program.
  • At least 2 years of experience in pediatric psychiatric care preferred.
  • Expertise in assessing and managing psychiatric conditions in children and adolescents.
  • Knowledge of developmental psychology and common mental health conditions in youth.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and team collaboration skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and maintaining patient confidentiality.
