About This Role

The OBGYN & Maternal Fetal Medicine Clinical RN at Kaiser Permanente is responsible for coordinating and monitoring patient care in the clinical area. This role is ideal for a dedicated nursing professional with experience in maternal fetal medicine.

What You'll Do
  • Administer all oral and injecting medications in the assigned clinical area.
  • Ensure narcotics and drug supplies are available and secured according to KP standards and regulatory laws.
  • Initiate and monitor IV therapy for therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
  • Provide ongoing assurance of functional emergency equipment and adequate emergency drug supplies.
  • Respond to emergency situations throughout the medical facility and document incidents to the supervisor.
  • Coordinate, implement, and evaluate patient teaching plans related to surgery, wound care, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, anticoagulant therapy, therapeutic diet instruction, and weight control.
  • Set up, perform, and/or assist with procedures as appropriate.
  • Coordinate recovery care of patients post-sedation and ensure safety measures for compromised patients.
  • Triage walk-in patients as needed or assigned.
  • Manage workflow of the delivery system and assist team members in identifying best methods for care.
  • Act as a resource person to LPNs and Clinic Assistants.
  • Act as patient advocate and resolve problems within HCT; escape unresolved issues to Clinical Coordinator.
  • Perform fetal monitoring.
  • Partner with physicians to assist with coordination of care through message management, phone triage, care advice, scheduling appointments, and patient requests.
  • Perform other related duties as directed.
