8. This integrated delivery system is a robust network of care for all District residents, but more importantly, it ensures that residents of Wards 7 and 8 have access to high quality care in their community.
This full-service hospital includes 136 beds (with the ability to expand to 184 beds), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and newborn delivery, an ambulatory pavilion for clinic visits and other outpatient services, a 500-car garage, and a helipad for emergency transport.
We are seeking an experienced Nurse Manager - Labor & Delivery/Postpartum
The Nurse Manager – Labor & Delivery/Postpartum is responsible for the clinical, operational, and administrative leadership of the Labor & Delivery and Postpartum/Mother-Baby units. This position provides oversight of nursing practice, patient safety, quality outcomes, staffing, employee development, patient experience, and daily departmental operations.
The Nurse Manager serves as a visible and engaged leader who promotes a culture of excellence, accountability, collaboration, and patient- and family-centered care. Working closely with nursing leadership, physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary partners, the Nurse Manager ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality care throughout the maternal and newborn continuum.
Job Duties /Responsibilities- Provides overall clinical and operational leadership for the Labor & Delivery and Postpartum/Mother-Baby units, maintaining accountability for safe, high-quality, patient- and family-centered care.
- Leads and develops nursing staff through recruitment, onboarding, coaching, performance management, professional development, and employee engagement while fostering a culture of teamwork and accountability.
- Oversees daily operations, including staffing, scheduling, productivity, patient flow, departmental resources, and budget management to ensure efficient and effective delivery of care.
- Monitors quality, safety, regulatory compliance, and patient experience outcomes, leading performance-improvement initiatives and maintaining readiness for regulatory and accreditation requirements.
- Collaborates with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to advance evidence-based maternal and newborn care, strengthen clinical practices, and support organizational goals.

Qualifications Requirements- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
