RN: PACU

Job Description:

Join us for a 13-week contract as an RN in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) in the heart of Washington, DC. This role is perfect for experienced ICU nurses with 1-2 years of recent PACU experience, especially those comfortable working independently and thinking critically under pressure. You’ll primarily work 12-hour day shifts on Saturdays and weekends on call, providing post-operative care for patients emerging from anesthesia.

This is an opportunity to be part of a dedicated team caring for Level I trauma center patients no surgicenter work here so expect a fast-paced and rewarding environment. Your responsibilities will include monitoring recovery, managing pain and nausea, updating medical records, and educating patients and families about post-surgery care. Travelers must be willing to live within 50 miles of Washington, DC, and possess current licensure, ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.

Preferred candidates will hold a BSN and have additional certifications like CPAN, TNCC, or CCRN for an even brighter experience.
