La Clínica del Pueblo (LCDP) is a community based Federally Qualified Health Center committed to advancing health equity through culturally responsive, integrated care for communities disproportionately impacted by structural barriers to care. Our model of care is team-based and relationship-centered. Nurses work alongside clinicians, behavioral health, case management, health education, and community services to support whole person care that addresses medical needs and social drivers of health.

Position Summary: LCPD is seeking a compassionate and collaborative Registered Nurse to join our growing Perinatal Care Team for a full-time position. This is an opportunity to support an outpatient program that provides comprehensive prenatal, obstetric, gynecologic, family planning, and sexual health services across two clinic sites with a multidisciplinary team composed of an Ob/Gyn, a certified nurse midwife, family practice clinicians, and community health workers and educators.

The goal of the program is to deliver high-quality, evidence-based and culturally appropriate care while contributing to a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and equity.

The RN responds to provider orders and referrals, conducts nursing assessments, performs telephone and in-person triage, provides patient education, coordinates care, and delivers nursing services within scope of practice. The RN supports patients across the continuum of sexual and reproductive health care, including prenatal care, obstetrics, gynecology, contraception and family planning services, STI prevention and treatment, and sexual health education. The RN also supports transitions of care, population health initiatives, and quality improvement efforts while promoting health equity and addressing social drivers of health.

Qualifications:
Required Experience &

Education:

• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Maryland and/or the District of Columbia. Both licenses are required within 90 days of hire.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing
• At least 3 years of experience in obstetrics/prenatal clinic or labor and delivery care, including performing and interpreting non-stress tests and triage of obstetric patients.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English and Spanish
• Current BLS certification.
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
• Commitment to health equity and serving vulnerable populations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate within interdisciplinary teams.

Preferred:

• Experience working in FQHCs or community health settings
• Experience working with other diverse populations including the Latine immigrant community, LGBT+ community, individuals experiencing homelessness and/or individuals with substance use disorders.

• Conduct nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with obstetric providers, certified nurse midwives, primary care providers, and other members of the care team.
• Exercise independent clinical judgment in evaluating patient concerns and providing nursing interventions within scope of practice.
• Conduct in-person and telephone triage for prenatal, postpartum, and gynecologic patients, collaborating with providers to ensure timely and appropriate care.
