American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool RN with 2+ years of recent PICU or CVPICU experience for a Magnet, Level I Trauma teaching hospital.
Details- Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool position within a 320-bed hospital
- Floats between NICU, PICU, and CVPICU based on facility needs
- Patient ratios typically 1:1 or 1:2, up to 1:3 when floating to NICU
- Day shift (3x12, 7:00-19:30) or night shift (3x12, 19:00-7:30) available
- Every other weekend required, with option for blocked weekend scheduling
- No on-call requirements
- Cerner charting system used
- Active DC RN license required, or proof of pending license with application submitted within 24-48 hours of signing
- MD or VA compact or state license also accepted
- BLS and PALS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent PICU or CVPICU experience required
- Some NICU/CICU experience highly preferred due to floating expectations
- Teaching hospital and Level I Trauma experience preferred
- Strong critical care skill set required, including ventilator management, arterial line management, and interpretation of ABGs
- Experience with pediatric dosage calculations and use of Broselow system required
- Provide critical care nursing services to pediatric patients across NICU, PICU, and CVPICU units
- Scrubs may be any color but must be child-friendly and logo-free
- Maximum 7 days RTO; a full week off requires making up shifts or extending the assignment
- One holiday guaranteed based on preference, second holiday coverage based on facility need
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Local candidates accepted with no mileage restriction at the same bill rate
- Previous employees must have been separated from the facility for at least one year to be eligible
- Pre-start orientation modules must be completed prior to starting the assignment
