American Traveler is hiring an experienced Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool RN with strong PICU experience for a 13-week contract requiring floating between PICU, CVPICU, and NICU.
Details- Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool position at a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital
- Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:2, with ratios up to 1:3 when floating to NICU
- Day shift (7:00-19:30) and Night shift (19:00-7:30), 3x12 hour schedules available
- Every other weekend required, with flexibility for blocked weekend scheduling
- Floating required between NICU, PICU, and CVPICU within scope
- No on-call responsibilities
- Uses Cerner charting system
- Active DC RN license required
- Compact or state license required for MD/VA
- BLS and PALS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent PICU or CVPICU experience required, 3 years preferred
- Some NICU/CICU experience highly preferred due to floating expectations
- Teaching hospital and Level I Trauma experience preferred
- Strong pediatric critical care skill set required, including ventilator management, central line care, IV therapy, and emergency medication administration
- Experience with pediatric dosage calculations and use of the Broselow system
- Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients across PICU, CVPICU, and NICU settings as needed
- Scrubs may be any color but must be child-friendly and logo-free
- Maximum 7 days RTO; if a full consecutive week is taken, a week must be added to the end of the contract to make up the time
- Every other weekend and holiday coverage required, with one guaranteed holiday based on preference
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted with no mileage restriction at the same bill rate
- Previous Children's National employees must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible
