Qualifications:
- Valid RN, LPN, or LVN license in the state
- Previous experience in school nursing, pediatric care, or student health services preferred
- Ability to respond effectively to minor injuries, emergent situations, and ongoing health concerns
- Strong communication skills for interacting with students, staff, and parents
- Capability to maintain detailed health records and handle confidential information responsibly
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications
Essential Responsibilities:
- Assess and address the health needs of students on a daily basis, managing both acute and chronic conditions
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to school protocols
- Collaborate with educators and school staff to develop health care plans, ensuring students can access learning with minimal disruption
- Serve as a resource for health education and wellness initiatives within the school community
- Monitor and document health status, providing referrals to outside healthcare providers when necessary
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute valuable health insights for student success
- Promote a safe and healthy environment by adhering to public health guidelines
