Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support manufacturing and production operations throughout the full product lifecycle.

The Quality Engineer will oversee quality from incoming materials through finished products, support product development and modifications, improve manufacturing processes, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

This position will work closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, suppliers, customers, and management to identify quality issues, perform root-cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and maintain compliance with the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support production throughout the manufacturing process, from incoming materials through finished goods.
  • Maintain quality oversight across the entire product lifecycle.
  • Participate in product development, modifications, and engineering changes.
  • Ensure product requirements, processes, customer expectations, and specifications are understood and maintained.
  • Oversee quality laboratory activities.
  • Coordinate Quality Inspectors and Gage Technicians.
  • Identify and resolve quality issues involving suppliers, components, and external processes.
  • Reduce reliance on 100% inspection through effective process controls and improvements.
  • Review and improve production processes, manufacturing methods, training, and material flow.
  • Identify process weaknesses and recommend improvements in partnership with Production Supervision.
  • Lead and support Corrective Action Requests (CAR), including:
    • Root-cause analysis
    • Corrective action development
    • Implementation
    • Follow-up verification
  • Participate in customer quality communications, engineering discussions, product development, revisions, and customer visits.
  • Maintain accurate testing, inspection, and verification documentation.
  • Follow the ISO 9001 Quality Management System
    , SOPs, and Standardized Work Instructions.
  • Promote customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.
  • Identify, contain, and assess risks related to suspected nonconforming products and potential product escapes.
  • Perform product and process inspections and audits.
  • Communicate quality, process, product, and personnel concerns to the Quality Manager and senior management.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Perform other quality-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • 3+ years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing and production processes, including hydraulic applications
    .
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
    .
  • Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and summarize data and make recommendations.
  • Experience developing, improving, and implementing manufacturing methods and procedures.
  • Ability to assist in developing Standardized Work Instructions
    .
  • Ability to manage processes and drive process improvements.
  • Proactive and strategic approach to problem solving.
  • Demonstrated mechanical skills.
  • Ability to read and understand:

    • Work specifications
    • Procedures
    • Standardized Work Instructions
  • Ability to understand and process quality inspection and routing documentation.
