About the Role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented, analytical Research Analyst to conduct in‑depth market and policy research focused on foreign policy, geopolitics, and ASEAN regional markets. The role involves gathering, synthesizing, and analyzing regional trends, policy shifts, economic developments, and stakeholder dynamics across Southeast Asia, with the goal of delivering actionable insights, reports, and briefings to internal teams and stakeholders. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong interest in international affairs, regional policy, and market intelligence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive market and policy research covering ASEAN economies, political landscapes, foreign policy frameworks, and regional cooperation initiatives.
  • Monitor regional news, government announcements, regulatory updates, and industry trends across ASEAN member states.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze qualitative and quantitative data; compile findings into clear research reports, briefings, and executive summaries.
  • Track geopolitical developments, bilateral/multilateral relations, and their potential impacts on regional markets and business environments.
  • Support ad‑hoc research requests, background analysis, and trend forecasting for internal strategy and planning teams.
  • Maintain research databases and stay current on evolving foreign policy, economic, and market conditions throughout Southeast Asia.

  • Proven experience conducting market research, policy analysis, or regional intelligence work; familiarity with ASEAN countries and regional dynamics is a must.
  • Strong analytical thinking, data synthesis, and written communication skills; ability to translate complex policy and market information into concise insights.
  • Excellent research skills: proficient in sourcing credible information, cross‑verifying data, and organizing large volumes of content.
  • Self‑motivated, able to manage multiple research projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong command of written and spoken English; familiarity with ASEAN cultures and regional institutions is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior work experience in think tanks, consulting, government affairs, international organizations, or market intelligence firms.
  • Working knowledge of ASEAN trade, investment, and economic integration policies.
  • Basic proficiency in any Southeast Asian language.
  • Experience creating policy briefings, industry reports, or trend analyses.
