Research Specialist 2, Thrive Center for Children, Families, and Communities - Georgetown University
The GU Thrive Center for Children, Families, and Communities is dedicated to fostering a stronger society by promoting the wellbeing of ALL children, adults and families and creating more inclusive communities. We execute this mission through research, training & technical assistance, scholarship and thought leadership. Through a portfolio of philanthropic grant funds, the Thrive Center is evaluating the effects of several community-based interventions on whole family mental health.
The Research Specialist 2 will be responsible for helping implement community-based, mixed methods evaluation protocols, ongoing data collection, entry and management, and report generation. As new projects emerge or the need arises, the Research Specialist 2 will be involved in various other related research and evaluation activities. Tasks include, literature search and synthesis, database maintenance, qualitative data collection, qualitative coding and analysis, aiding in the creation of scientific presentations, and general office/administrative assignments.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Supervise and participate in qualitative data collection and coding.
- Maintenance of project databases and disbursement of participant incentives.
- Support the PI and Co-I in data analysis and report generation.
- Convene meetings with internal and external project team members.
Bachelor's degree required with at least 3-5 years relevant experience, Master's degree preferred. Experience with quantitative and qualitative data analysis and software (e.g., Excel and Atlas.ti).
Strong written, oral communication and research skills, ability to maintain a research and evaluation library and catalogue of resources, multi-tasked with good organizational skills. Possess knowledge of library and web related research, proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access), familiar with database management and data visualization is required.
The individual will be required to travel within the Washington, DC area to complete program activities.
Pay Range:
$44,022.00 - $73,406.80
Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
