BILLING COMPLIANCE ANALYST
Remote – U.S. (Select Approved States)
Compensation: $80,000 – $110,000 + Annual Merit & Bonus Eligibility
A nationally recognized international professional services firm is adding a Billing Compliance Analyst to its expanding revenue operations team. This newly created position reflects significant firm growth and increased demand across complex, high-impact client engagements.
This role offers the opportunity to work directly with senior revenue leadership on sophisticated billing structures while helping drive automation and AI-enabled process improvements.
Position OverviewThe Billing Compliance Analyst ensures billing accuracy and compliance with client outside counsel guidelines (OCGs), while identifying scalable solutions to improve timekeeping practices. The initial focus will support a rapidly growing practice group, with broader firmwide impact over time.
This is a highly analytical, problem‑solving role designed for someone who wants exposure beyond traditional billing execution.
Key Responsibilities- Review attorney and staff time entries prior to proforma generation for compliance and accuracy
- Identify and correct non-compliant entries (e.g., block billing, vague or administrative narratives)
- Edit time narratives to align with client-specific billing requirements
- Design and implement scalable compliance solutions leveraging automation and AI tools
- Analyze recurring billing issues and develop long‑term process improvements
- Deliver feedback and training to timekeepers to strengthen billing best practices
- Lead data‑driven discussions with stakeholders to refine time entry standards
- Support advanced reporting, matter setup, and ad hoc revenue initiatives
- Collaborate closely with billing coordinators, finance leadership, and administrative teams
- Law firm or professional services billing experience
- Direct experience reviewing legal time entries for compliance
- Familiarity with client outside counsel guidelines (OCGs)
- Experience resolving billing compliance issues
- Exposure to eBilling platforms, automation, or AI‑driven tools
- Advanced Excel skills, including reporting and modeling
- Experience coaching or training timekeepers
- Experience with Elite 3E or comparable legal billing systems
- Bachelor’s degree required (Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred)
- Strong analytical and detail‑oriented mindset
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating across teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Process‑improvement focused and solutions‑driven
- Fully remote within approved U.S. states
