Boingo simplifies complex wireless challenges to connect people, businesses, federal agencies and things. For 20 years Boingo has been pioneering indoor wireless solutions, with a strong focus on Federal accounts and Digital Air Services (DAS) coverage.

The Director of Federal Sales (Individual Contributor) will grow Boingo’s portfolio of DAS, Wi‑Fi, and Private Network products. The primary goal is to secure contracts ranging from $1 M to $10 M+ with Federal assigned accounts, expanding our footprint in Federal Office Buildings, Military Base Hospitals, Training Centers, and corporate headquarters.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver results against assigned sales quotas for wireless infrastructure within Federal assigned accounts.
  • Own the account lifecycle: identify opportunities, qualify prospects, understand economic benefits, decision criteria, and contracts processes; create Customer Champions; position against competition.
  • Implement sales forecasting and pipeline management.
  • Identify, contact, and qualify prospects through research, calling, email, face‑to‑face meetings, networking, and trade events; leverage existing account relationships.
  • Collaborate with the Federal business team to drive growth.
Requirements
  • Live in the DC Metro Area (Virginia, Maryland).
  • 10+ years of experience selling complex solutions in the Federal space with a proven record of signing large deals.
  • Understanding of Government budgets, Federal funding cycles, and contract processes.
  • Ability to negotiate and execute contracts, leveraging cross‑functional resources.
  • Experience leading RFP response efforts in federal organizations.
  • 1–2 years’ experience selling DAS wireless network solutions (plus).
  • Proven track record of closing deals >$1 M–$10 M+ and meeting or exceeding annual quotas.
  • Willingness to travel ~20 %.
Benefits & Compensation

Starting salary range: $150,000 – $188,000 per year. The offer will consider internal equity, geographic region, and experience. In addition, the position includes a bonus plan, 401(k) match, health, dental, vision, gym, phone, and tuition reimbursement, and other benefits.
