The Vice President of Sales will build, lead, and scale our customers outward-facing commercial organization. This is a hands‑on, player‑coach role responsible for quickly getting up to speed on existing customers, assessing and evolving the current inside sales function, and designing, recruiting, and leading a high‑performing sales organization.
WHAT?The VP of Sales will personally drive strategic opportunities, establish scalable sales processes and serve as the external commercial face with customers, partners, and at industry events. This role is suited for a proven sales leader who has scaled revenue in PE‑ or VC‑backed environments and thrives in complex, technical B2B services CDMO businesses.
The role responsibilities are, but are not limited to:
- Design and implement an outward‑prospecting sales model aligned with rapid company growth, translating company strategy into executable sales plans while preserving near‑term momentum
- Quickly develop a deep understanding of existing customers, active opportunities, and forecast, identifying expansion, upsell, and cross‑sell opportunities within the existing customer base
- Design a lean, scalable sales organization including field sales, contract management, and sales operations
- Personally manage and close key strategic and high‑value opportunities as a VIP seller, ensuring consistent pipeline coverage, accurate forecasting, and deal progression
- Aligned with Company objectives, design and implement compensation plans, sales operations processes, tools, and reporting
- Serve as a primary commercial ambassador at customer meetings, industry events, and trade shows
- 3–5 years operating at the Vice President level (or equivalent) with direct revenue ownership
- Experience in private equity– or venture‑backed companies, including growth‑stage scaling
- Proven success building and scaling small, high‑impact sales organizations
- Direct experience in CDMO, contract services, or similarly complex technical B2B environments
- Demonstrated ability to step into an existing business, quickly learn customers, and maintain growth momentum
- Strong player‑coach mentality with credibility to personally sell and close complex deals
- Comfortable designing sales processes, compensation plans, and operating cadence in fast‑moving environments
- Executive presence with customers and partners; confident representing the company externally
