The Business Development Manager will be responsible for generating orders and sales for the region and assigned customer accounts within our Datacenter business unit.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: MANAGEMENT OF ORDER GENERATION
  • Directing and leading all sales activities within the defined region. Includes the following:
  • Growth of existing accounts in Orders, Sales, and profitability targets.
  • Identification of new accounts for Orders and Sales growth.
  • Supporting and communicating with Customer Service.
  • Provide guidance to all sales and service areas of where the company is heading and how it is to get there.
FORECASTING/ REPORTING
  • Gather and interpret data to forecast future orders and shipments on a three-month rolling forecast model as well as weekly reporting.
  • Provide sales contact reports on all customer contacts or prospects.
TECHNICAL / SALES SUPPORT
  • Execute Annual Orders Plan.
  • Establish orders goal that support company initiatives for total orders but also achieves specific goals in targeted product and/or service categories.
  • Define targeted markets for growth that are in alignment with company initiatives.
  • Define targeted customers and outline strategic objectives necessary to capture new orders.
  • Develop and maintain sales channel strategy that provides opportunities for growth and supports company initiatives for expanded growth into existing and targeted markets.
  • Regular travel in markets.
  • Meetings as necessary with key distributors/channel partners.
  • Support/Training at key/targeted accounts.
  • Provide technical support to customers to ensure customer satisfaction and increase repeat sales.
  • Assist in preparation of quote opportunities and support the quotation engineering team in preparing solutions that provide the best product or service at appropriate margins.
TEAM & MARKETING PARTICIPATION
  • Monthly participation with Management review team.
  • Scheduling and participating in the marketing functions.
  • Scheduling and selling of Training seminars.
  • Participation and management of exhibitions in outside events that promote the company.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • College Degree from accredited institution in Business, Marketing, or related.
  • 5+ years in sales in Datacenter products, UPS systems, and/or supporting services is preferred.
  • Knowledge of types of customers; engineering firms, end-users, etc.
  • Participation in CRM, reporting, forecasting, budgeting.
  • Understanding the sales cycles for above products and services.
