Bloom is DC Water's award-winning soil amendment: a Class A, Exceptional Quality product made from recycled biosolids that landscapers, soil blenders and contractors use to build healthier soil. Blue Drop markets and sells Bloom across the DC, Maryland and Virginia region in partnership with DC Water.
The RoleWe're looking for a hunter to own and grow Bloom's commercial book. You'll sell to soil blenders, landscape contractors, landscapers and resellers across the DMV. The job centers on opening new accounts and winning back blender and construction volume, while keeping current customers well served. You'll report to the Senior Director of Bloom and have real ownership of your territory and your numbers.
WhatYou'll Do
- Grow the commercial book against annual volume and revenue targets
- Open new accounts, especially soil blenders and construction customers
- Build pipeline through outreach, industry events, referrals and marketing leads
- Meet regularly with existing customers on upcoming orders and account health
- Represent Bloom at trade shows and build standing in the regional landscape, horticulture and construction supply community
- Take orders, schedule deliveries and own the customer relationship through fulfillment
- Coordinate with DC Water's Resource Recovery team to align production with sales
- Keep prospect, customer and order records current in Hub Spot
- $75,000 base salary plus a sales incentive tied to annual volume and revenue targets; total earnings up to $117,098 at full attainment

This is a field role with significant travel throughout the DMV, time at job sites and on Blue Drop's farm properties, outdoor work in all seasons, and limited overnight travel. After a conditional offer, Blue Drop may conduct a criminal history and/or driving record check, in accordance with DC law.
What You Bring- 3+ years of direct B2B sales, with a record of hitting volume targets and opening new accounts
- Proof that you've built a book of business, not just maintained one
- Experience with landscaping, soils, horticulture or gardening (professional, volunteer or personal)
- Disciplined CRM habits: if it isn't in the CRM, it didn't happen
- Strong written and verbal communication; organized and deadline-driven
- Valid driver's license and your own vehicle for travel across the DMV
- Sales experience in soils, compost, mulch, horticulture, landscape supply or construction materials
- Existing relationships in the Mid-Atlantic landscape and horticulture trade
- Hub Spot experience
