Job PurposeResearch Assistant will assist with user testing and user‑centered design of biometric technologies necessary for creating audio captcha technology. The candidate should be well‑informed about the scientific method, human subjects research, and data analysis using computational and statistical techniques. The Research Assistant will assist in preparation of briefs to the sponsor and engage in regular meeting updates to the sponsor on project deliverables.
SupervisoryAuthority
Research Assistant will supervise and work alongside undergraduate students. The Research Assistant will contribute towards monthly reports, quarterly reports, and scientific publications.
Nature and ScopeInternal contacts include RITA HQ Team and the entire Howard University community. External contacts are as directed.
Principal Accountabilities- Assist with AI research initiatives from conception to implementation.
- Analyze research data critically, translating findings into actionable insights.
- Collaborate across disciplines, integrating diverse expertise into the work.
- Disseminate knowledge through scholarly papers and compelling presentations to stakeholders.
- Design and validate NLP techniques, contributing to the broader field with innovative solutions.
- Engage in developing and evaluating human‑machine interfaces and systems integration, enhancing human performance through technology.
Mastery of programming languages (Python, Java, C++, C, R) and command‑line scripting.
- Expertise in ML frameworks (scikit‑learn, Tensor Flow, PyTorch) and data processing (JSON, XML).
- Exceptional communication and collaborative skills.
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Systems; 5+ years in machine learning and data science. Advanced degrees may offset experience requirements.
Compliance Salary Range Disclosure$21.00 - $31.00 per hour.
