Overview

The Asset Protection Administrator role safeguards the Company's assets and minimizes losses. This position oversees surveillance, access control, and alarm systems to prevent theft and fraud. It develops policies that ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards and is responsible for ensuring the security and safety of company employees, visitors, facilities and assets.

The Asset Protection Administrator implements all security and safety measures, protocols, and procedures to mitigate risks, prevent incidents, and maintain a secure and compliant environment in accordance with regulations and directives for the protection of government information and assets. This position is responsible for physical management of activities performed to maintain the active and passive measures, designed to prevent the unauthorized access to personnel, equipment, materials, and information;

and to safeguard them against espionage, sabotage, terrorism, damage, and criminal activity.

This position is created in response to Government regulations: ICD 705, 32 CFR part 117, and HSPD 12 and FIPS that is to ensure compliance and audits of physical security controls are met and controlled properly. This position is an independent contributor to ensure and perform all physical security controls are in place, documented and tested, as well as coordinate with other security teams in preparation of customer inspections and reviews.

Duties and Responsibilities:

This position will perform duties without oversight and will ensure security is following government requirements for a classified facility.
  • Oversee Facility Access Control and CCTV device maintenance in coordination with the PLSA vendor, including management of approved annual budget allocations.
  • Maintain alarm system UL certificates in compliance with NISPOM requirements.
  • Ensure semi-annual alarm testing for SCIF environments by regulatory standards and maintain UL certifications under ICD 705 technical specifications.
  • Track, oversee, and coordinate alarm system repairs and maintenance to prevent and detect theft.
  • Monitor access control downtime, CCTV performance, and false alarms, and report findings through monthly metrics (part of reporting duties).
  • Perform escorting in classified and unclassified areas to ensure compliance with security requirements.
  • Generate, monitor, administer, and audit the Lenel badge system to ensure compliance with security standards and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Create and provide monthly metrics related to badge activity, visitor counts, and access control performance.
  • Coordinate with Cybersecurity teams to schedule annual Penetration Testing with external vendors in accordance with government requirements.
  • Ensure penetration test reports are reviewed, findings are documented, and Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&M) are developed and implemented within required timelines.
  • Brief findings, risk impacts, and mitigation plan to senior leadership.
  • Conduct investigations involving theft, damage, and criminal activity, and coordinate with local law enforcement as needed.
  • Assist with emergency response actions as required.
  • Ensure accountability and proper destruction of classified materials and hardware.
  • Manage and coordinate guard contract activities to ensure compliance with the Statement of Work (SOW).
  • Monitor guard staffing, turnover, and performance and include findings in monthly reporting metrics.
  • Plan and oversee security protections for corporate and high-profile events such as commencements, Board of Trustee meetings, and executive or VIP visits.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with local law enforcement, government physical security representatives, senior leadership, and program managers.
  • Maintain asset protection controls to ensure compliance with NIST 800-171 requirements, including office locks, keys, and hardware accountability.
  • Maintain inventory of Class 6 security containers for classified material storage, including changing combinations on doors and containers.
  • Use reporting insights to recommend security improvements and risk mitigation strategies.
Basic Qualifications
  • Highly organized with ability to independently prioritize competing deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for interacting with personnel, contractors, and government officials
  • Must be familiar with the ICD 705 Tech Specifications within the first 6 months of employment.
  • Complete the FSO and Physical Security training in the DCSA Computer based training system within the first 6 months of employment
  • Learn the SIMS database to track key inventories and classified containers
  • Work independently and make decisions on how to support the business
  • Ability to develop and implement processes without oversight
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications
  • Ability to work with computers and understanding of databases
  • Must have excellent customer service skills
  • Must be able to pass a background check
