The Access Control Specialist is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the facility by managing visitor and employee access at perimeter posts. This role includes verifying identities, issuing and collecting badges, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring that all access procedures are followed efficiently and professionally.
Duties & Responsibilities- Greet and screen visitors and deliveries in accordance with VAR security procedures.
- Issue temporary access badges promptly (approximately 5-15 minutes) and maintain daily inventory logs.
- Conduct accurate data entry and maintain detailed records of all access transactions.
- Enforce perimeter security policies and respond to security incidents as needed.
- Provide professional customer service while maintaining a secure environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of access control and perimeter security procedures.
- Knowledge of identity verification and visitor authorization processes (VAR).
- Strong customer service and professional communication skills.
- Accurate data entry and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to follow strict security procedures consistently.
- Ability to remain calm, alert, and professional in high-traffic or high-pressure situations.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a favorable client specific adjudication.
- 2-5 years of experience in access control, visitor management, or security operations.
- HS Diploma, or equivalent.
Special Notes: Relocation is not available for these jobs.
Must be able to successfully pass a background check, and pre-employment drug testing. Job offers are contingent upon results of background check and drug testing.
