A3 Technology, Inc. is seeking a junior level UAS Policy Analyst to join our team in Washington, DC.
DailyJob Functions:
- Support the security analysis of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) operations, related technologies, and associated business processes.
- Review security requirements, identify potential risks and vulnerabilities, and help develop mitigation strategies to protect UAS environments and data.
- Analyze incidents, trends, and operational issues to support continuous improvement of security controls and procedures.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with applicable policies, standards, and security best practices.
- Support analysis related to UAS investigations, enforcement actions, policy, and training.
- Prepare clear documentation, reports, and recommendations for leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Assist with monitoring, auditing, and maintaining security-related records and evidence as needed.
- Policy Development and Governance
- Drafting and revising enterprise-wide or agency-wide policies.
- Developing policy frameworks, directives, standards, and guidance documents.
- Translating laws, regulations, Executive Orders, OMB memoranda, and agency directives into actionable policy.
- Assessing policy impacts across multiple organizations and stakeholder groups.
- Aligning policy with organizational strategy, mission objectives, and risk management goals.
- Strategic Analysis
- Evaluating emerging threats, risks, technologies, and regulatory changes.
- Conducting policy research and impact assessments.
- Developing policy options and recommendations for senior decision-makers.
- Balancing operational, legal, security, and business considerations.
- Executive-Level Communication
- Preparing executive summaries, decision papers, white papers, and briefing materials.
- Distilling complex technical issues into concise, non-technical language.
- Anticipating questions from senior leaders and providing defensible recommendations.
- Presenting findings and recommendations to executives, boards, and governance bodies.
- Legislative and Regulatory Knowledge
- Understanding federal legislative processes.
- Knowledge of Congressional reporting requirements and oversight processes.
- Familiarity with federal cybersecurity laws, regulations, and guidance.
- Experience analyzing proposed legislation and regulatory changes.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Coordinating across multiple organizations and levels of leadership.
- Building consensus among technical, operational, legal, and executive stakeholders.
- Facilitating policy reviews and adjudicating comments from diverse stakeholders.
- Leadership and Influence
- Advising senior leaders on policy decisions.
- Defending recommendations before executive review boards.
- Influencing organizational direction without direct authority.
- Experience in security analysis, risk assessment, or a related analytical role.
- Strong understanding of security principles, controls, and common vulnerability management practices.
- Ability to evaluate information, identify patterns, and communicate findings clearly and professionally.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document technical information for a variety of audiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to research and gather information into actionable presentations.
- Ability to write action papers for senior leadership.
Skills:
- Experience supporting UAS, aviation, aerospace, or transportation-related security activities.
- Experience with law enforcement or security operations.
- Bachelor's degree and 2 years of professional work experience.
Additionally, US Citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US is a must. Upon receiving a conditional offer of employment, candidates will undergo a Government investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for Government clearance. Verification of past employment, education and references is also required. It is imperative that candidates be either a US citizen or a current green card holder with the last 3 consecutive years as a resident of the US.
