Job Description:

Vaxcom Services LLC (a Parsons company) is looking for a talented Security Site Supervisor to join our team! In this role you will get to lead and manage the afternoon shift security operations of a team of armed security guards at a sensitive site that is located in Washington, D.C.

Please note:

this position requires applicants/hires to already possess the armed security officer certification and medical clearance issued by the District of Columbia to work/operate in the city. What You'll Be Doing:
* Leading a team of armed Security Officers in their day-to-day operations Mon-Fri between the hours of approximately 1:00pm - 9:00pm.
* Controlling access to facility by monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting vehicles, and ensuring all personnel entering the site have the proper identification. This includes performing security patrols of the site via foot, bike, or vehicle as appropriate.
* Responding to situations on site using the appropriate escalation of force level up to and including armed response by following established Use of Force Policy.
* Responding to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents that may occur during day or night.
* Observing and reporting incidents or suspicious activity.
* Maintaining proficiency and safety in the use of all assigned equipment, control devices, and weapon systems.
* Enforcing Post Orders, company/Customer rules, and facility regulations.
* Completing mandatory training and recertification programs annually.
* Assisting management in maintaining and enhancing program performance over time.

* Acting as a resource to managers and employees in the program and customer organization, with problem solving skills.

* Maintaining and building relationships with the Customer and other stakeholders.

* Other ad hoc duties as assigned for this location/facility. What Required Skills You'll Bring:
* Bachelors Degree and 2+ years of related physical security experience or high school diploma plus 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree.

* 2+ years of general supervisory/leadership experience at any level.

* Demonstrated excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

* Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

* Strong observational and situational awareness skills.

* Demonstrated ability to interact professionally, effectively, and successfully with individuals at all levels of an organization, building strong relationships, and communicating with confidence and respect.

* Demonstrated experience in working with Customer leadership and the Program Manager on a daily basis to address issues, changes, and modifications that will impact job requirements.

* Demonstrated ability to de-escalate conflicts and handle difficult situations professionally.

* Requires standing and walking facility patrols (as required) to include climbing stairs and walking up inclines and on uneven terrain for extended periods.

* Ability to occasionally work flexible hours, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

* Must possess (at the time of application) an active/current SECRET security clearance.

* Must already possess the armed security officer certification and medical clearance issued by the District of Columbia to work/operate in the city.
