Position Title: DC Unarmed SPO
- Swing Officer.
Location: Washington, DC 20011.
Pay Rate: $24/hour.
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Shift: 06:30 AM – 05:30 PM
Securemedy Incorporated is seeking a professional and dependable DC Unarmed Special Police Officer (SPO) - Swing Officer to provide security services in a school environment. The officer will help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment while supporting access control, daily campus operations, student arrival and dismissal, and emergency response.
The ideal candidate is professional, alert, reliable, and comfortable interacting with students, families, staff, and visitors. Strong communication, sound judgment, and the ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced school environment are essential.
Responsibilities- Maintain a visible security presence.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and assigned areas.
- Conduct routine patrols and security checks.
- Support student arrival and dismissal.
- Assist with access control and visitor screening.
- Respond to safety concerns and emergencies.
- Use professional de-escalation techniques when needed.
- Complete accurate incident reports.
- Communicate security concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Follow all site and Securemedy security procedures.
- Active DC SPO License required.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must successfully complete required background and drug screening.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to remain alert throughout the shift.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors as required.
- Active DC SPO License.
- Prior security, school security, military, law enforcement, or related experience preferred.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Professional and dependable.
- Strong judgment and situational awareness.
- Ability to de-escalate conflicts professionally.
- Comfortable working around students, families, staff, and visitors.
- CPR/First Aid/AED certification preferred.
