This is a full‑time on‑site role for a Barrier Technician located in DC/Baltimore, MD area but other areas may be considered as well. The Barrier Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing a variety of vehicle barrier and perimeter security systems. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, conducting inspections, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and collaborating with team members to ensure projects are completed on time.
The role also involves interacting with clients in a professional manner and providing exceptional technical support.
- Knowledge of installation, maintenance, and repair of security systems or vehicle barriers.
- Basic electrical and mechanical engineering skills, along with troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and keen attention to detail.
- Excellent ability to follow blueprints, technical manuals, and safety regulations.
- Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients.
- Physical ability to travel and handle field work, including lifting and working in various environments.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training is a plus.
- Previous experience in security systems, construction, or mechanical fields is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and clean background checks are essential for site access to secure facilities.
