Job Title: Case Manager FSLA Status: Non-Exempt/Full-Time

Reports To: Assistant Program Coordinator

Pay Range: $55,000-$75,000 annually

Program Type: Single and Families Program

Note: House of Ruth salaries may be adjusted up or down contingent on the agency’s financial position with due notice.

Organizational Overview

For nearly 50 years, House of Ruth has empowered women, children, and families to rebuild their lives and heal from trauma, abuse, and houselessness. We offer comprehensive services for survivors, including service-enriched housing, nationally accredited child and family development programming, and free counseling to anyone who has experienced domestic violence.

Position Summary

The Case Manager is responsible for developing a therapeutic relationship with the program participants, assess strengths and needs, creates goals, implements and monitors the case management plan. Maintain collaboration with landlords in the community. Provides supportive counseling and facilitates groups.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Completes intake referral interviews with the Assistant Program Coordinator.
  • Orient new program participants and meet regularly with the participants in the office and in the community.
  • Develop a therapeutic relationship, assess strengths and needs, formulates a case management plan and implements that plan.
  • Complete and maintain accurate, thorough documentation reflecting all case management and counseling functions and activities.
  • Communicate essential issues to collateral contacts. Gather and incorporate information from other sources regarding the participant.
  • Identify resources including housing and link program participants to a comprehensive set of services. Advocate for services to assist the participants.
  • Establish and maintain professional contacts with House of Ruth staff and staff from other organizations to ensure coordinated services.
  • Accompany program participants to appointments as appropriate.
  • Develop and conduct a variety of psycho‑education and support groups and activities, teach a range of living skills and social skills including parenting.
  • Provide positive role modeling to program participants.
  • Provide supportive counseling, problem resolution and crisis intervention sessions. Intervene during and after an incident.
  • Ensure that the participants adhere to the agreed upon program expectations and address instances of non‑adherence to program policies and procedures.
  • Create & maintain a safe, secure and non‑violent environment for all program participants.
  • Effectively manage all emergencies by following standard procedures.
  • Monitors medications, conduct urine toxicology screens and complete all related documentation.
  • Screen telephone calls and walk‑ins, provides crisis intervention and make appropriate referrals.
  • Provide on‑call support/program coverage when needed.
  • Provide on‑going briefings to the Assistant Program Coordinator on all relevant issues and pertinent information relating to the program participants.
  • Attend all training sessions and meetings.
  • Develop, maintain and collaborate with landlords in the community.
  • Input and maintain database system applicable to program.
  • Case managers assist and support grant reporting by providing client and case management information to the APC, Data specialist, and the grant manager when requested.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Education And Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in social work or related field required.
  • 1‑2 years’ experience in a case manager role.
  • Experience working in a residential setting preferred.

  • FBI Fingerprint/Background Check
  • Child and Family Services Requirement (CFSA)
  • Alcohol and drug Test
  • Urine Screening
  • TB Test
  • Police Clearance
  • Must be fully vaccinated, including the booster
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
