The Social Worker is responsible for case management, therapeutic intervention, and crisis management for all students. The Social Worker provides counseling services, develops IEPs, and works with families on an abundance of matters both related and unrelated to school. The incumbent will also serve as a point of contact for families to stay in contact with the school.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Identifies problem areas that affect a student’s adjustment to the school environment and works with the student to overcome their challenges.
- Provides counseling (group, individual and/or family).
- Partners, consults, and works with other school team members in supporting students.
- Prepares IEPs and other related documents, including service trackers and progress reports timely, and attend student meetings.
- Monitor’s student attendance and when warranted prepares truancy intervention plans and CFSA or Court referrals as mandated by the District.
- Provides crisis intervention.
- Develops intervention strategies to increase academic success.
- Provides social/emotional supports as outlined on students’ IEPs.
- Conducts home visits as needed.
- Works with parents to facilitate their support in their children's school adjustment.
- Assists parents by providing resource information and supports in accessing programs available to students with special needs, as well as resources for various family needs.
- Obtains and coordinates community resources to meet students' needs.
- Provides case management for students and families requiring multiple resources.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
- Minimum Master’s in Social Worker (MSW).
- Must have one or more years working as a Social Worker under LGSW license and knowledge and understanding of rules and regulations for serving in a school setting.
- Licensed Social Worker.
- LGSW - Social Worker.
- Proficiency in MS Office Software.
- Ability to provide and maintain a clean driving record with a full, valid, local driver’s license.
