Washington, DC | $23–$25/hour | Monday–Friday | 3–6+ Month Contract
SNI Companies is partnering with a Washington, DC organization seeking an experienced Housing Choice Voucher (HCVP) Specialist for an immediate temporary assignment.
This opportunity is ideal for a dependable, detail-oriented housing professional with direct, hands-on experience administering HUD Housing Choice Voucher/Section 8 programs who can step into the role and contribute with minimal training.
Please note:
Direct Housing Choice Voucher/Section 8 experience is required. Candidates whose experience is limited to general housing, residential services, property management, or case management will not be considered for this particular opportunity.
Administer and support day-to-day activities related to the HUD Housing Choice Voucher (HCVP)/Section 8 Program
Review participant files for eligibility, accuracy, completeness, and ongoing program compliance
Apply and interpret HUD regulations, including 24 CFR Part 982
Verify participant income and eligibility using HUD's Enterprise Income Verification (EIV) system
Process and review recertifications, participant documentation, and related program requirements
Apply Housing Quality Standards (HQS) requirements
Support compliance with Section Eight Management Assessment Program (SEMAP) standards
Ensure adherence to Fair Housing and Reasonable Accommodation requirements
Maintain accurate, organized, and audit-ready participant records
Communicate professionally with program participants, landlords, property owners, and internal stakeholders
Respond to questions and resolve participant or landlord concerns in a timely and service-focused manner
Assist with additional Housing Choice Voucher program responsibilities as needed
What We're Looking ForQualified candidates should have:
Direct professional experience with the Housing Choice Voucher/Section 8 Program
Working knowledge of HUD regulations and 24 CFR Part 982
Knowledge of HQS requirements
Familiarity with SEMAP standards
Understanding of Fair Housing and Reasonable Accommodation regulations
Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage a high-volume workload while meeting compliance deadlines
Professional and dependable attendance and punctuality
Highly PreferredPrevious experience working with DCHA policies and procedures
Housing Choice Voucher Specialist Certification
Housing Quality Standards (HQS) Certification
Previous experience working within a housing authority, public housing agency, or HUD-funded housing program
Location: Washington, DC
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
Lunch: 30 minutes
Pay Rate: $23.00–$25.00 per hour, based on experience
Assignment Length: 3–6+ months, with potential for extension
Start Date: Immediate
